blank la paz

Dear Friends,

Come join us New Years Eve to ring in the New Year for 2008 and also  to kick-off our 15th Anniversary Celebration in North Berkeley.

This year we have rolled back prices, are serving a sumptuous buffet with a carving station, and once again feature the performance magic of Yaelisa and Caminos Flamenco presenting the lively dance and music of the Spanish Gypsies.

It's an upbeat celebration complete with funny hats, confettii, etc. and complimentary champagne at midnight.

Best wishes for a productive and peaceful New Year,

Sol Y Luna Reunion Concert

After ten years the San Francisco based flamenco group “Sol Y Luna” is back to celebrate their reunion with a very special “all star” line-up of international musicians and dancers. The reunion concert takes place on Friday November 16, 2007 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA.

San Francisco CA – CALENCO IS BACK!!!

The insistent, pulse-pounding rhythms of Sol Y Luna’s “Calenco”, California Flamenco, as the group calls it, combines Flamenco and salsa montuno driven by blazing Afro-Cuban percussion.

Reuniting on November 16th are some of the most famous and talented musicians in northern California. Leading the group’s reunion is Spanish flamenco guitarist vocalist Jose Manuel Blanco “El Grillu”. Joining “El Grillu” are guitarist Don Fontowitz, congero vocalist Edgardo Cambon, bassist David Belove, flutist saxophonist Melecio Magdaluyo, Percussionist Michael Spiro, Violinist Anthony Blea, flutist John Calloway and percussionist Danilo Paiz. Making a special guest appearance is flamenco guitarist Jason McGuire “El Rubio” and flamenco dancers Yaelisa, Fani Ara and Melissa Cruz of Caminos Flamencos.

Presenting the reunion is guitarist vocalist “KAWEH” who’s ensemble opens up the night with their own exotic blends of rumba flamenca, Latin, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern styles. On stage, Sol Y Luna’s Edgardo Cambon accompanies Cuban guitarist vocalist Kenia Rodriguez, bassist Mark Kraft & Latin percussionist Willie Garza. KAWEH is joined by “Sandra”, dancing the seductive art of Belly Dance to select compositions.

Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. VIP seating is limited and available upstairs in the balconies at $55 for each of the wings and $75 for the center section upstairs (best seat in the house). For tickets, if using VISA/MC please call 408.455.0260 (a service fee does apply) or visit: www.kaweh.com. Please note on the website the shipping and VISA/MC convenience fees are calculated together.

Doors open at 8PM. KAWEH performs at 9PM and Sol Y Luna reunites at 10PM.
