Abierto 851x315

Flamenco Abierto

Presented by Irvine Barclay Theatre & New World Flamenco Festival

Friday, April 25, 2014

A backstage, onstage, mix-it-up featuring some of California’s finest flamencos.

The Barclay and the Festival present an “eye-opening” flamenco experience. Yaelisa, dancer and artistic director of the Festival, and a dozen of California’s recognized flamencos will host our guests in an interactive evening of flamenco and general merriment.

Come on in! The backstage terrace, scene shop and stage house itself are the sites of the evening’s festivities. Informal acoustic performances greet you in the bar areas, then onto the stage itself for an intimate performance. Finally, back to the bar area for more mingling and where all of the artists will soon form a circle and create a real “juerga,” giving our guests an idea of how flamenco artists and aficionados gather and share what they love.

April 25, 6:30 pm and 8:45 pm

Featured performers include Yaelisa, Jesus Montoya, Antonio de Jerez, Andres Vadin, Manuel Gutierrez, Reyes Barrios, Mizuho Sato, Briseyda Zarate, Oscar Valero, Claudia de la Cruz, Ryan Zermeño, and more…

This New World Flamenco Festival special event is sponsored, in part, by the National Endowment for the Arts.
